Forged by nature

Good honest locally produced food.

Why we do it?

We wanted to champion the best local produce Stirling has to offer, straight from the farm and on to our shelves. A unique place to visit, shop for essentials and treats or enjoy something tasty to eat in comfortable surroundings.

We want to promote the best seasonal produce Stirling has to offer.

We want local farmers to benefit from a local hub to sell their fantastic produce.

We want to create a vibrant hub for people to enjoy freshly made food.

The Smiddy team

We have assembled a team packed full of experience and enthusiasm to bring this all to life.

Daisy has spent the last year working tirelessly to bring all this to fruition and is a long-term devotee of sustainable locally grown food.

Linda is the general manager of the Smiddy and keeps the whole operation ticking over as it should, to very high standards.

Rosie is the assistant manager of the Smiddy and is hands on with the day-to-day running of the shop to make sure we're always on top of things.

Stewart runs the Smiddy Butchery and as well as offering the best cuts, cures his own bacon and makes his own haggis on the premisis.

Dave is head chef at the Smiddy Café and his team makes everything we serve to order, using products from our very own butchery counter.

A little bit of history

We take our name from the old iron works or ‘smiddy’ that once served the local area for generations. We wanted to breathe life back into the old place and serve the community once again as a place for locals, visitors and foodies to enjoy.

Where to find us

We are 10 minutes from Stirling on the A873, just off the A84, close to Blair Drummond Safari Park.
