Eating Al Fresco

Make the most of the sunshine while it lasts.

Sun hats at the ready

Hasn’t it been lovely weather recently? We’ve all been enjoying it here at The Smiddy and so have our customers.

Outdoor eating

Our outdoor seating area has been further improved this year with the much-needed addition of some patio umbrellas.  The tables have also all had numbers attached and this is making it much easier for the café staff to place and serve customers. Our previous system was a free-standing number which kept falling over! Come and try it for yourself whilst the sun still shines. The view of the Gargunnock hills are pretty amazing too.

We welcome a new café manager

The big news in the café is the appointment of a new manager – Carole. She comes with a wealth of catering experience and we are all looking forward to working with her.

Summer treats and essentials

Sales of alcohol, barbeque fuel and other sundry items like sauces, skewers, crisps, rolls, salad etc have been flying out of the shop. Citronella candles have also been popular given the midges are out in force this year but nothing can dampen down the appetite for outdoor eating in Scotland!

Deli deals

We've just introduced a new deli deal offering 3 items for just £10. The items change weekly so see in-store for details on what products are up for grabs that week. We have a wide range of cold meats, treats, Smiddy pies, cheeses, antipasti and picnic essentials.

Butchers’ BBQ bundle

The butchers can hardly keep up with the demand for their BBQ bundle. At £20 for a meat feast, it's a great value purchase and absolutely perfect for treating friends and family. Drop by and order one soon, they're very popular with all our customers and go quickly. In other news, Stewart our butchery manager, will be leaving us soon for even sunnier climes. He is off to Bahrain with his family. It was a job offer he couldn’t turn down and we wish him all the very best but we are going to miss him!
